
Gua Bao Pork Belly Bun
Ingredients
Pork Belly
- 3 Cups Pork Belly slow cooked, pulled apart
Bao Buns
- 1 Pack Frozen Bao Buns about 8 or make your own if you're keen
Glazing Sauce
- 2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
- 1 pinch Salt & Pepper
- 1 tbsp Ginger minced
- 1 each Red Chilli finely chopped, use less if you dont like too spicy
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
- 3 tbsp Soy Sauce Use dark or thick sweet
- 1 tsp Lemon Grass paste
Toppings
- 1 bunch Coriander small bunch fresh roughly torn
- 1 each Red Chilli sliced to thin strips, discard seeds
- 4 each Spring Onions Sliced in thin strips
- 1 tsp Sesame Seeds
- 2 tbsp Cashew Nuts toasted & chopped
Instructions
- Slow cook the pork belly. I'm not detailing the steps here, just do it how you prefer.
Glazing Sauce
- Add all the glaze ingredients to a small saucepan and simmer gently until it is slightly thickened. Set aside.
Bao Buns
- Steam thawed or frozen buns according to packet directions
Assembly
- Add some pork belly to the bao buns and thena dd some sauce, top with the toppings. Serve immediately and enjoy.
